Gravekeeper's

Playing Gravekeeper's deck recently at DN, found that this deck still work fine in current meta game. Yet, still have some hard time against the 'Bug' deck. However, this deck is rock against junk doppel, grave BF, and many more deck that depend on grave play. Win most of the game (Note: most of the game are against Hieroglyph Dragon, junk doppel and some agent build deck.), but mostly all of them left the game after i activate royal tribute... what a shame~

Still working on the Magic and Trap cards, may be will try fit in torrential tribute by taking out mirror force and switching MST with Book of Moon or Enemy Controller. But, overall this build is quite OK for me. May be will try to build this deck in real life, but consideration must be made because March is coming soon.... So, I think better on hold the build 1st.

Happy Chinese New Year !!!

Not gonna post any thing about YGO today. It is 1st day of Chinese New Year. So, I hereby wish you all have a nice dragon year and may your dream come true.

Random post

Out of idea these few days... So, posting some random stuff here...



OCG player will get their new pack-Galactic Overlord at 18th Feb 2012, which mean before the March ban list is release. New archetype will be introduce and it will be the Hieroglyph Dragon.

Yes, they are dragon type monster, beside they all are light type, so Honest can be abuse in this deck. On top of that, Future fusion will be 'misuse' by this deck as well. Hence, think about it what will be get ban and limited during the March ban list... The combo and strategy of this deck will be discuss sooner or later by others player but i will not cover at here due to lack of study to those cards yet and for myself I'm not a dragon lover too.

This new pack also will print out the Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon, ace monster of Kaito.
3 Level 8 monsters
When this card is Xyz Summoned using "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon" as Xyz Material: Negate the effect(s) of all other face-up cards on the field. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; detach all Xyz Materials from monsters your opponent controls. This turn, this card gains 500 ATK for each Xyz Material detached, and during this turn's Battle Phase, this card can attack equal to the number of Xyz Materials detached by this effect.

The effect is quite 'OK' i think, summoning requirement is quite hard... But who knows later will have what type of combo to get it on the field quickly...

Back row hate...

After the release of GS 2012, almost all the player start to main 1 or 2 starlight road in their deck, especially for those deck which run high amount of trap cards or deck which play heavy back row. For instance, Hero deck, WWBW, Offering Gadget and etc. Beside starlight road, dimension prison also have become the main concern for many player during battle phase. All these problem thanks to the release of GS2012, yet it doesn't mean I don't like it to get reprint.

Things getting annoying due to the heavy back row, these make player think twice before making any decisions that will punish you for the game.

So, i would like to bring back a long forgotten card to help countering it.


 And that card will be Xing Zhen Hu.

This card will be a good side in to countering those mentioned deck. It is a +1 advantage, you only use 1 card to lock down 2 of his set up card. Beside, this card also making your opponent left 3 space to set their cards. Try to think of it if u have 2 copy of Xing Zhen Hu and you successfully lock down 4 of his set cards, this will indirectly help you to win game and you will hear your opponent shouting out, "WTF!!! Why you put this kind of cards !!!"

Yes, you might say MST is in 3 copy now, yet how many deck will put in 3 MST anyway. Beside, if he/she MST your Xing Zhen Hu also will not be a big deal, because your powerful trap cards like, mirror force, dimension prison and etc is safe from being MST.

Thus, if your local have many heavy back row player, try to side in 2 copy of it if your side deck still available.

Deck Testing

I haven't play cards for weeks already, so decided to go to my local shop -Dueling Nexus to have some fun today.

Reach there at around 1.30pm something, found that the shop owner are not around for few days so can't do some trade. However, it is good news for me too, if not may be i will spending a lot again.

Met some of my friends there, so just start deck test with them.

Deck Used: Machina Offering Gadget
Game 1 : Frog deck OXO
round 1: As usual do swarm all the gadget out n exceed hope for the game.
round 2: Die to flip flop frog, as he filp all my hope back to extra... run out of monster... die.
round 3: He try to Des Croaking me but luckily i got starlight road... gadget plus thought ruler
              archfiend win the game.
after 3 round, we continue play for few game... i win mostly all the game...

Game 2 : Whirlwind BF(play for many round, mostly win all of it)
Win the game as usual, swarm the gadget n play fortress for the game. During the game i manage kill all his signer dragon n win the game with my MVP of the day thought ruler archfiend.

Game 3 : Karakuri
Win almost all the game too... Do the machina stuff or gadget stuff for the game.

Game 4 : Neos Hero O-
Only play one game with him, kill as usual kill him with swarming all the gadget n exceed for the game. (star light road save my ass from absolute zero)


Satisfy for my result today, win almost all the game... need to thanks KC for suggesting smashing ground, yet i still put one creature swap in the deck for in case any big monster hard to get rid off. In conclusion, this deck is not dead at all with the introduce of exceed monster and the unlimited ultimate offering.
 
My friend buy a twin pack ORCS and get Hanzo !!! WTF !!! So easily get it... May be because we in luck today, because during our journey to the shop we met "Cai Shen Ye"... And i think The God have granted both of us good fortune today =)

Counter Special Summon

Just finished my Final test for this semester, this indicates that is time for me to go back to YGO again...

As you have seen on the title, today I going to discuss about the countering on special summon (s.s.). The main reason for me to discuss this topic is due to one of my best friend from Melaka. He suggested "Summoning Curse" as our main topic today.



Yes, the picture above is the card i have just mentioned. This card effect is,
"When a monster is Special Summoned, the controller of that monster chooses 1 card in their hand and removes it from play. During each of your End Phases, pay 500 Life Points or destroy this card."

As a duelist, we all know that hand card advantage is important for todays duel, except you are playing Infernity deck or etc. Hence, this card will be a treat to all those s.s deck, which also need hand card advantage for the game.

This card will be a nice side deck against Agent angel, Junk doppel and Karakuri deck.
We all know that Junk doppel and Karakuri deck is heavy in s.s. Besides, this two deck is death without hand advantage. Thus, but siding this card, it will stop their whole combo from going on. They will think twice before proceed s.s in the game.

While against the Agent angel, this card does it job too. For Agent deck, the main play is to s.s all those annoying "ball" by Venus and then proceed s.s to the "super tanker" (Gachi gachi) and stall the game until they beat you with their boss monster or just beat you down with Venus.
Hence, by siding in this card. It will stall them for awhile, and this will be your chance to KO them.

However, this card is normal rare in DREV. So, try to get it if your local is selling cheap.

Machina Offering Gadget

Today i would like to discuss about how this deck run and what is the advantage of using this deck. Although in the OCG game, this deck is neither as strong as TCG nor stronger than the 'BUG' deck a.k.a inzekter. Yet, this deck still have it potential to top in regular tournament. Lets have a view on a common build.

Yes this deck may look like an ordinary machina gadget deck, just add in some ultimate offering and we just simply name it Machina Offering Gadget. Although this deck run similarly to machina gadget deck which is waiting our boss Fortress to when on rampage with limiter removal on the war field and bla bla bla... However, with the introduce of Exceed monster a.k.a Xyz monster, the potential of the deck has been extended to max. All you need is just swarming the field with all the adorable gadget to prepare for the exceed summon through ultimate offering. Due to the lvl 4 gadget, we can exceed many Rank 4 Xyz monster easily. For instance, No.16 Shock Ruler, No.39 Hope, Steelswarm Roach, Vylon Disigma and many more. Beside, you may also exceed rank 7 monster with Machina fortress. All of these Xyz monster are strong enough to take the game.   

Beside, with the release of cNo.39 Hope Ray from ORCS, this deck can generate an OTK move. The combo is just simple, all you need is just an ultimate offering and a gadget. Just swarm all the gadget out with ultimate offering and exceed summon 2 cNo.39 to the field. By the time u success summon 2 cNo.39, your life point is already drop to the needed point which is 1000 or below. Then, just activate hope ray effect to increase it's attack to 4000k and dropping your opponent monster to 0 attack. Finally, you may declare your attack for the game.

You may wonder why the my build have PWWB and why I just use 1 copy of POD instead of 2 or 3. For the PWWB, you can get your explanation from Dueling Legacy: Phoenix Wing Wind Blast . While for the POD, I putting 1 copy instead of 2 or 3, this is because it clog my hand every time due to get too many copy in a time (personal problem, i think). Besides, this deck already have enough search engine from the effect of gadgets and gearframe.

However, by now you may be thinking that is it so easy to run this deck? Does it have weakness?
My answer will be yes... This is because every deck have their weakness, that is why people always point out that skill and experience win the game.

Greetings

After taking a lot of considerations, I have finally decided to start my own blog. In the coming time, i will be posting every experience that I have gained through the game. The discussions and observations made will be mainly around the OCG metagame in Malaysia. Although I may not be as strong as the champion, but I feel that as a duelist we should contribute as much as we can to provide a better insight for others player. Hence, I'll try my best to provide any information about the game.
